An Update from DiviQ 🌈
June is a month of community, celebration, and reflection for all of us at DiviQ.
This month, DiviQ is proud to celebrate Pride and reaffirm our commitment to building a quantum ecosystem where everyone feels welcome, valued, and able to thrive. Diversity isn’t just something we talk about; it’s at the heart of our mission to make quantum more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
We are very excited to have Denise Ruffner represent DiviQ at Quantum.Tech World Conference this month as a part of the Startup Advisory Board! With an outstanding lineup of speakers from industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
Beyond the technical talks, it is an opportunity to engage in conversations focused on workforce development and on building a quantum ecosystem that is innovative and inclusive.
Another highlight was the WiQD Awards (held as a part of the WiQD annual symposium on June 10th. The awards were presented by DiviQ’s own Tzula Propp and Julia Oesterling. These awards celebrate individuals who are making a meaningful difference in the quantum community.
One recipient who holds a special place in our hearts is Nina Hefele. Nina has personally supported Tzula throughout their journey and is part of the reason DiviQ’s co-founder is still in the Netherlands today! 💜

Moments like these remind us that building a more inclusive quantum community happens through people supporting one another, opening doors, and creating opportunities.
As always, we’re continuing our Travel Grant program to help reduce barriers for graduate students and early-career professionals seeking access to quantum conferences and professional development opportunities.
Until next time,
Sara Metwalli, PhD
